High Purity, Pellet PEX Potassium Ethyl Xanthate In Copper Flotation
Description
PEX is a very good collector with high selectivity and not so strong collecting effect due to its short carbon chain, widely used in flotation to recover sulfide minerals such as rougher and scavenger unit. In copper, zinc, nickle and pyrite contained gold flotation field, especially, PEX has good flotation performance in gold recovery improve.
Production of PEX
Potassium Ethyl Xanthate is produced by reacting amyl alcohol with carbon disulfide and potassium hydroxide. The reaction is as below:
CH3CH2OH + CS2 + KOH → CH3CH2OCS2K + H2O
Unlike the related sodium ethyl xanthate, the potassium salt exists as an anhydrous salt.
